About the Race

Our Small Fry Tri course was a big hit last year, so we’re bringing it back for 2027! The course is designed specifically for our youngest athletes, giving them the chance to experience all three parts of a triathlon while still keeping the event untimed, non-competitive, and just for fun.

  • SWIM: Begin with a fun slide into the pool’s splash area.
  • BIKE: Ride a bike, trike, scooter, or balance bike (any wheeled device) along our closed, paved course.
  • RUN: Complete the course by running through the same official finish line as our regular triathletes!

Start Time: The Small Fry Tri will begin after the conclusion of the main triathlon, with a start time no earlier than 9:15 AM. The Small Fry transition area will be located outside the pool area near the water slides and will be open all morning. Please note that the actual start time may be later depending on the progress of the main race.

Bike Drop-Off: To drop off your Small Fry athlete’s bike, enter through the Pool Deck Spectator Entrance and walk through the spectator area. Proceed through the gate at the end of the pool deck and exit near the water slides.

The splash pad slides will not be open before the Small Fry Tri, as they are part of the race course. If your children would like something to do while waiting for the event to begin, the bouncy house will be open at the Finish Line for athletes and their siblings to enjoy.

Five-year-olds: Five-year-olds may choose to participate in either the Small Fry Tri or the Sportsplex Tri for Kids. If choosing the Sportsplex Tri for Kids, they must be able to complete the required swim, bike, and run distances. For more details about the Sportsplex Tri for Kids, visit the Race Details page.
